Social Welfare Committee

We have engaged with great enthusiasm to offer relief to our kith and kin who have been languishing in distress for three long decades.

We have put up our headquarters that could not see the light of day for 30 years and utilized the income generated through it for social work.

We have established an office in Jaffna, founded a Hindu Research Centre and initiated a “ SaivaVithakar Course”.

We have extended our services to the Eastern Province, Mannar and up country.

We had been in the forefront in offering services to the people who were afflicted by the War and when the people were displaced in the North, we rushed aid to their doorstep.

We are running a hostel in Ratmalana for children who have been orphaned.

We had served with zeal to the Siva Achchariyas, elders, mothers, children and university students who had to leave Vanni area in distress and misery consequent to the war.

We had served the people who had been victims of Tsunami, natural disasters etc.

We have had opportunities to serve the needy and to seek assistance from whatever quarters we could for that purpose. We must not forget to mention here the services rendered by London KanagaThurkkai Amman temple to run the Children’s Home in Mannar.

We also record with gratitude the services rendered by our former President ManithaneyaMamanySrartharathnam V. Kailasapillai who by initiating Manithanayam Trust, secured us funds from Sri Lanka, Australia, America, England, Canada etc to implement the proposals made by ACHC Board of Management to serve the people.

We recall the kind service rendered by us to save the life of a three year old girl who suffered from a hole in the heart ailment. That she is advancing in her studies now securing merit passes is matter of solace to us!.
